Cleaning your bathroom effectively can be one of the hardest house chores. No one wants to do anything with all those mould, dirt, and grime. But still, it has to be done. To effectively clean your bathroom, there are cleaning techniques with normal household items can make the job easier for you.

Here are 13 easy ways to effectively clean your bathroom.

1. Plunger

After using the plunger, flush the toilet a couple of times and use the water to clean the plunger. Add some bleach and detergent in the toilet then swish the plunger around it for disinfection.

2. Shower Tile Grout
Scrub a mixture of baking soda and bleach onto the stained tile grout using a toothbrush. Let it sit for a few minutes then wash it off and see your tile grout clean again.

3. Drains

Unscrew the drain and remove as much gunk as you can using a tool like a screwdriver. Pour in some baking soda in the drain, then some vinegar until it bubbles up. Leave for a few minutes then pour hot water down the drain.

4. Shower Door Tracks

Lay some paper towel soaked in vinegar onto the shower door tracks. After 30 minutes, remove the paper towel use a toothbrush to brush across the tracks. Lastly, rinse with water.

5. Jetted Tub

Fill your tub with water then pour in some baking soda and vinegar. Let the jets run for a couple of minutes, drain, then repeat if necessary.

6. Floor Tile Grout

Scrub your floor with a mixture of powdered oxygen bleach and water to get rid of those stubborn stains in the tile grout. Leave for a couple of minutes before washing with plain water.

7. Sink Stains

Wash your sink first with detergent, then bleach, then a cleanser product called Bar Keeper’s Friend. Rinse the sink in between treatments rather than mixing all three at once.

8. Toilet Brush

After using the toilet brush, soak it in a bucket of hot water mixed with 2-3 caps of bleach. Let it sit for about an hour. Afterwards, rinse the brush with hot water.

9. Showerhead

Fill a plastic bag with vinegar then place the showerhead inside the bag so that it soaks in the vinegar. Secure the bag in the showerhead using a rubber band and allow it to sit for at least 2 hours. Afterwards, remove the bag then wipe the showerhead with water.

10. Glass Shower Doors

Mix a one-to-one ratio of warm vinegar and liquid soap. Use the mixture and a sponge to thoroughly clean the glass shower doors. Afterwards, use plain water to wipe off the soap suds.

11. Floor

Mix equal parts of alcohol, water, and vinegar with a few drops of liquid detergent. Wipe down the floor with it to make it shine. You can even add essential oils of your choice.

12. Plastic Shower Curtain

Toss your shower curtain in the washing machine with a cup or two of white vinegar. Make sure to use warm water and a gentle cycle. Also include a couple of towels to keep the curtain from forming into a ball. Afterwards, hang the curtain back up, wipe it down with sponge, and then rinse with warm water.

13. Toilet Ring

Flush the toilet first then sprinkle Kool-aid all around the edges. Let it sit for an hour before scrubbing it with a toilet brush. Let it sit for another hour then flush the toilet until all the Kool-aid is gone.
